Betsey Johnson

My favourite designer is Betsey Johnson. Betsey Johnson is an American fashion designer known for her girly and insane designs. Many of her designs are considered "over the top" and embellished. She also is known for doing a cartwheel at the end of her fashion shows....she is crazy but always true to herself.

For spring 2013 she will have so much colour(as always) and one of my favourite fabrics TULL! Her dresses bring alittle fairy tale to a world sometimes dull? Fill it with TULL!

Birthday Celebrations

This weekend was pretty crazy. My mom & my sister both celebrated their brithdays! My mom on the 22nd and my sister, Grace, on the 23rd.

On Saturday we celebrated with Grace, we had a lovely dinner party with all our friends. Grace made us all some fabulous food, thanks so much Gracie! We then headed to town for some dancing and drinks.  Some photos of our craziness in town-

My dad took my mom away for the weekend to celebrate her birthday, I think they also wanted a quick escape from the Saturday night dinner party madness. They went off to Bunratty Castle Co. Clare for the night. On Sunday when they got home we all had a lovely family dinner and gave my mom and sister their pressies.

My first fashion post

So as Amy has told you all I'm Sarah, her older sister, room mate and bestie! I'll be running everything fashion from now on... I'll tell you a little about myself!

I am a qualified hair stylist for the past 9 years and a make up artist for about 4 of those years. I worked for Peter mark and aveda. I was also very lucky to do a lot of work with RTE, the National concert hall and have travelled to London to work with TOPSHOP and Charles Worthington.

But although I loved my job, it had a lot of bad points too and after along think I soon realised I wasn't happy being a hair stylist anymore.

Over this summer I was super lucky to do work experience with eventease.ie. I worked at loads of amazing festivals from ' Body and soul' to ' Electric Picnic' doing production work. So I starting to think passion for hair and event planning? Back to college for me! So I'm enrolled in Sallynoggin College for ' Fashion industry practice' and jumped straight into second year! That's what a good portfolio does! Two weeks in of event management, journalism, and fashion styling...... I'm hooked!

So on this blog I'll be talking about fashion of hair, make up, clothing, music and gigs! I'm pretty loud, I'm pretty funny, I pretty much talk 24/7... So roll on my blog... Thanks guys. Sarah xx

Welcome Sarah!

My sister Sarah has continually been an inspiration and given me some great ideas for my blog. She has always had a huge interest in the fashion world and a few weeks ago she started a new course in Fashion Industry Practice.

She told me she has been following fashion blogs for a while and was thinking of starting her own blog, as I already have a fashion section on my blog I asked her to come on board and cover the fashion side of my blog and to my delight she gladly accepted!

So as from today, Sarah will be covering the fashion section of All the little things,

Welcome aboard Sarah!

Hope everyone enjoys her new posts!

My Favourite Tan

Yet another self-tan review!
No 7 Quick Dry Tinted Lotion in Medium/Dark is by far my favourite tanning lotion. I have tried out a lot of tans over the years and always go back to this. Every time the No 7 vouchers are out it is always my first purchase.

Good News: It is easily to apply as it is a lotion, it glides on evenly. It dries in minutes which is also great if you are hopping into bed after applying it. As it is a lotion is also leaves the skin feeling lovely and soft. Another great thing about this product is it wears off gradually and doesn’t leave you all blotchy and patchy! I also think this product  leaves you with a very natural looking tan, which is the whole aim after all!

Bad News: At 17 Euros a bottle it is a little expensive, but you could always do what I do and buy it the minute the vouchers are in use!

Result- 4.5/5 ***

No 7 Quick Dry Tinted Lotion is available at all Boots Stores-Link

Has anyone tried out this tan? What are your favourite self-tans?

AW 2012 Key Trends

Autumn/ Winter 2012 is finally here!

It is sad to say goodbye to the neon colours and summer shorts (not that we really got the weather in Ireland to wear them). But I am happy Autumn has finally arrived. Time for woolies and winter coats and booties!

Here are some key trends/pieces for A/W 2012!

Military- Military is huge this season. Several lines have included Military inspired style in their collections including Victoria Beckham & Dior.

Red- Dare to wear red? Vibrant red is a key colour this season, as seen in Vivienne Westwood Autumn/Winter 2012-13 collection.

Tartan- no stranger to autumn and winter!

Conceal/Reveal- Reveal and conceal with sophistication- As seen in DKNY 2012 Fall collection.

Metallics- An absolute  must at Christmas! Metallics & print also a must this AW 2012.

All clothing available from Riverisland  & Topshop now!

Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman (Brushes)

After reading a review my friend Hayley decided to try out these brushes.
Here is her review!

She tried out:

- Blush Brush (12.25)

- Stiplling Brush (13.45)

- Powder Brush (13.45)

Good News: These brushes are amazing, they are reasonably priced (prices above), they are the same or better quality then other high end brushes I have tried out in the past (Mac & Face2).
The stippling brush gives better coverage and works make up in better because the brush is smaller than other brands.
The powder brush and blush brush are also great brushes, they are extremely soft, easy to use and give an even finish on the skin and they do not leave clumps. The brushes are also designed to stand up for easy storage.

Bad News: There is none! I was thrilled with these brushes.

Result- 5/5 *****

Real Techniques Brushes are available at Boots stores in Ireland.

Learn about Real Techniques products here.

Special Thanks to Hayley for the great review! x

Soltan Beautiful Bronze Self-Tan Dry Mist Spray

I decided to try this tan out last week. As I was going away with my friends for the whole weekend, it probably wasnt the best idea to trust in a new tan, but I went for it anyway as it was on special!

Good News: The spary was very easy to apply and dried quite quickly.

Bad News: The colour was a lot darker then I expected, and it does not fade well.

I put on two layers of tan before heading to bed and woke up a bit darker then expected!! I think I will use this product again, maybe just one layer next time or I will try go for the lighter shade!

Result- 3.5/5 ***
